The FLITE.Rim True Nature began during a winter in New Zealand. Not because Beate Gabelt was looking for a new color. But because she found herself missing something: sports eyewear that felt just as natural in everyday life as it did outdoors.

When you spend a lot of time outside, you begin to look at your surroundings differently. Light is constantly changing. It softens or sharpens colors, creates contrast and transforms the same landscape from one moment to the next. Those impressions stayed with SIOLS CEO and Designer Beate Gabelt throughout her journey across New Zealand. Somewhere between rugged coastlines, mountain trails and endless open spaces, an idea slowly began to take shape. Not as a sketch on paper, but as a feeling she couldn't let go of.

Anyone who knows Beate also knows that good ideas rarely arrive during office hours. They usually appear when something entirely different is on the agenda. On a bike ride. During a trail run. While travelling. Or sometimes in places where you probably wouldn't expect someone to think about sports eyewear at all. Like skydiving. Because before a new product becomes part of the SIOLS collection, it first has to prove itself in real life. And sometimes real life is allowed to be a little adventurous.

At that point, the FLITE.Rim had already been developed. Lightweight, highly functional and engineered to deliver uncompromising vision. But during that winter, one question kept coming back. What if sports eyewear didn't have to look like sports eyewear? That question became the starting point for the True Nature Edition.

Not through new technology. The FLITE.Rim remained exactly what it had always been: lightweight, uncompromising and engineered for crystal-clear vision. The challenge was different. How could that same functionality be expressed through a calmer, more natural design language?

The answer wasn't found on a computer screen. It was found outdoors. Where sand doesn't come with a color code, rocks are never just grey and moss looks a little different every single day. Those impressions are reflected in the three colors of the True Nature Edition. Calm, timeless shades inspired by nature itself. Not created to stand out, but to belong.

The FLITE.Rim itself didn't need to be reinvented. It already offered everything it was designed for: its generous panoramic field of view, its remarkably lightweight construction and the modular SIOLS System. What changed was its expression. One that feels less like competition and more like movement. Less like performance and more like freedom.

The result isn't a new product. It's a new facet of the FLITE.Rim. Eyewear that's just as comfortable on an early morning run as it is later in the city or over a coffee with friends. That's the idea Beate brought home from New Zealand. Not a new function. A new feeling.

And perhaps that's the nicest thing about the True Nature Edition. At some point you stop thinking about the glasses altogether. They simply become part of your day. From the first light of the morning to the last appointment in the evening. Exactly the way Beate imagined they should.
